Joy and Owen have been whelped and grown out at our home. It is amazing at how much they look alike, with only their gender traits and height making a difference in their appearance. We are anticipating great things to happen for them in the conformation ring when these two Brandy babies are shown.
With only a limited number of entries made in an early '09 trip, Joy won her first two AKC points! She's on her way!
Joy was OFA'd (hips)soon after her 2nd birthday. We are so pleased. She came back with an "Excellent" rating! Her CERF test (eyes) came back "Normal." We are really excited about the possibilities for this young girl.
JOY'S FIRST AKC POINT
Thursday, Feb. 12, '09, Joy(Lil Blessings Of Joy By Karmun) took her 1st point in the Sara Bay Kennel Club show held in Lakeland, Florida under Judge Mr. P.A. Thomann. She was Winners Bitch and Best Opposite Sex.
The next weekend in Valdosta,Georgia Joy took her 2nd point as before, Winners Bitch and Best Opposite Sex, this time under AKC Judge Mr. D. Bolus.
TIME FOR THE 2010 UPDATE! In Mt. Pleasant today (Sat. June 12, 2010) Joy took Winner's Bitch and Best Opposite. It was only a 1 point win, but it was her SIXTH point. We need to find majors for this little girl! Owen, her littermate brother, has a major, and needs another one and just a few more singles. The fun continues. :-)
RECENTLY JOY EARNED TWO MORE AKC POINTS, FOR A TOTAL OF EIGHT!
SADLY, AFTER TRYING TO CARRY A SECOND LITTER TO TERM, WE FOUND OUT THAT EVIDENTLY, WITHOUT MEDICAL HELP TO DO SO, JOY WAS UNABLE TO BE A MOM. A VERY HARD DECISION WAS MADE TO ALLOW AN EARLY RETIREMENT FOR OUR SWEET YOUNG LADY. A GREAT HOME WAS FOUND WHERE JOY'S SWEET TEMPERAMENT WAS ALREADY KNOWN. JOY'S HALF SISTER LIVED WITH TERRY AND HIS MOM, AND JOY HAS BEEN INVITED TO GO TAKE THE PLACE OF ANOTHER WELL LOVED SHELTIE THAT HAS PASSED OVER THE RAINBOW BRIDGE. BUT JOY WON'T BE THE ONLY SHELTIE IN THAT HOME. TERRY AND HIS MOM HAVE NICE 7 YR. OLD "KELSEY", AND A YOUNG "MERRY" WHO IS NEW TO THEIR HOME ALSO. A BLESSING GOES WITH JOY TO HER HOME.
